(Or, Why Do The Numbers Matter?)
This number has meaning here But really, it could be any digit Wether it was the first, second or God forbid the last piece I ever write I know that I always want to get the words just right Why chase perfection? What would that look like in a poem? Meticulously manufactured metaphors, pinch of a simile or two? What holds meaning to me might not mean anything to you So what’s the purpose of me trying to get you to stare through my point of view? The meaning of it is that I want my life to mean something outside the thoughts inside my mind Seventy and seven times and seven times beyond that and again and again have I written and seventy times seven more times I will do so until I physically cannot The words are all that ever mattered to me Just hoping that meaning that matters will be enough
Author's Note: this will actually be the 80th piece I've published on Substack so even the title will have lost it's meaning by the time you read this. Found that to be darkly ironic in its way.

Yay!! Congrats on 80 pieces!!! Keep sharing!!
