Empathy For Monsters
Empathy is a soft word, a gentle word
Should it be given to those who threaten, abuse and kill?
Caring for everyone is the creed of love
but what of those who stand in greed and nothing is never enough?
The monsters wear flesh, blood and bone
grinding the rest of us into dust below
Gentleness does not touch their souls
They are not deserving of this empathic word
We'll hold it for each other
Our mothers, sisters and brothers
Empathy for all of those that ponder
Empathy for all of those that wander
Empathy for all of those that which peace will prosper
None shall never be spared for the monsters
