Gagging Order

Move along, there's nothing left to see

Just a country, ignoring it's people's needs

A couple more deceased citizens over breakfast, we just lost seventeen hundred others whilst the demagogue continues their lies

It is within the fires of decit that this nation's bloated breasts will die

Move along, there's nothing left to see

Just a decrepit, balding bird with two broken wings

There is hardly any flight or fight remaining in the populace

The hope was hinging upon the last gasp

of a desperate shot in the dark

But who could tell the shooter or weapon apart?

Greedy motive and cowardice were the true cost

Move along, there's nothing left to see

Just some more Black bodies, hanging from the cedar trees

The order is in the silence

Courage and truth, gagged and bound

Was this always America where

The cheers of gleeful racists can be found?

Move along, there's nothing left to see

It'll end here and not quietly

If the people are to prevail

And banish the hate into the deepest pits of Hell

It must be united

And the truth of the matter must never erased

For together we will rise

And that sight will be all there is to see
