Phoenix
I am a creature of fire and air Burning bright and ascending in glorious flight Witness my rebirth, this resurrection is such a wonderous sight Peeking out from fallen ash tiny bird, alive again, no longer mad Looking to the sky which came my doom and from which was sent my swirling, sensational salvation Of fire and turbulence I was born and the the flame of tribulation has befallen me over and over But yet... You know the how the cliche goes You know that life will put us all to the test It is only here that I will confess There are times I hope for a less fiery final rest But that is not to be my fate It is here that I will remain These words and this hope will never die And it is on the other days that I am thankful that nor will I.
