Poem Ready
My request is this: let me live a life poem ready
Started off not talking good
Mumbling and not speaking clear
It was upon the page I found words that my mind's ear could hear
And was upon the careful study that kept me steady
Soon enough I was ready to live a life poem ready
These words, they're planted as little seeds
I'm praying they grow taller than the trees
Then stay and offer shade in the forest of my mind
Because it's amongst these woods that my thoughts run rampant true and free
I'm wondering where these literary pleas can take me
Hopefully further than I ever dared to dream
I'll carry my hopes within the words
And allow them to keep me upright and steady
Oh, I'm glad I get to live a life poem ready
For every situation, a rhyme might emerge
Or free verse for the more abstract
Haiku, sonnets or couplets too
I'm grateful it is not inspiration nor imagination that I lack
For the poems stand always and forever at the ready
Now I stand with a world of poetic lines before me
And a woven universe of confidence within
It is in and because of the writing my true life began
And through this love my courage will surely expand
This is the life of one, poem ready
So grateful I get to live a life poem ready
Oh Lord, I'm grateful I get to live my life poem ready
Author's Note: inspiration springs forth from the oddest of places. The title lyric of this song lead to me writing this piece. Give it a listen if it pleases ya.

Sick man thanks for sharing the piece! This has heaps of great potential for music, especially with the tag line.
It’ll just be giving myself time to feel it out and see if I can get anything good on my end.
I enjoyed this
