Racist Paradise
We are living in a racist paradise Blood marks the front doors and paints the streets What does it matter if the kids have no food to eat All of the “best” are all the same skin color, isn’t it sweet? Black accomplishments swept aside Black people left upon rooftops and in alleyways to die This is not allegory The murderous statistics tell the story We are living in a racist paradise Preaching to the choir is this similar, tired lament I don’t know any other way to frame it Tortured for decades on screen, these acts witnessed in real life no longer appear obscene It’s no wonder to now in order to reach heaven a nigger has to die twice Everything else is just noise We are living- and dying- in a racist paradise

Couldn’t help but think of Coolio and Stevie wonder.. this is heavy man. Great poem, I wish things were different 😔
I hate to like this because I don't like that this is the way society is. It is heartbreaking but your poem was incredibly written and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing.
