Stronger Than You Look
What's the outside say about you?
First glance assumptions, quick impressions through and through
Cleaned up nice on date night
And trying not to let the insecurity bugs fight and bite
Can we see past the sleek dress, the pressed suit?
Will you let us peer beyond the first pages of your book?
Because darling I am here to tell you
I reckon you're stronger than you look
Yeah I don't know you really and nor you me
But we've all had a rough day or two or even three
And see us both, still standing no worse for wear!
We'll just ignore the lingering scars, for mine hideunderneath my hair
These battle wounds scabbed and healed over
Testimony to getting up once more and again
Yours are even more invisible
You hide them underneath your glowing ghost of a grin
You haven't let the pain devour your soul
This world hasn't extracted it's costly toll, your optimism remains unshook
If you'll allow me, if you'll believe me
I can show you why you're stronger than you look

WOW! I loved this line, “You hide them underneath your glowing ghost of a grin” so good!!
